How it works

How we tint your car

You book a time, bring the car to our shop at 585 Gravity Court, and we fit the film inside our own bay. Every piece is cut to your car's glass, then shrunk to the curve of the back window so it sits flat edge to edge.

Most cars take between 1 and 5 hours, depending on the car and how many windows. If old film needs to come off first, we take it off and clean the glass before the new film goes on.

What a full car includes

  • Both front side windows
  • The rear side windows and quarter glass
  • The back window, shrunk to fit
  • A strip across the top of the windshield, if you want one
  • Glass cleaned and prepped before the film goes on
  • A last check with you before you drive away

Questions

Car window tinting questions

How dark can I tint my car in Wisconsin?

Your front side windows must let in at least 50% of the light, and the rear side windows and back window at least 35%. Film on the windshield can only go above the AS-1 line near the top. The film must not be reflective.

How long does car window tinting take?

Most cars take between 1 and 5 hours, depending on the car and how many windows we are tinting. We will tell you when you book.

When can I roll my windows down?

Keep them up for 7 days so the film can cure. In cold or damp weather it can take a little longer.

What is the difference between Carbon IR and Ceramic IR?

Both block 99.99% of UV and come with a lifetime warranty. Carbon IR keeps out up to 75% of infrared heat. Ceramic IR adds a ceramic layer and keeps out up to 87%.

Can you take off my old tint?

Yes. We strip old, bubbling or purple film and clean the adhesive off the glass before the new film goes on. Tell us when you ask for a quote.

What does the warranty cover?

Union Window Films covers the film against cracking, bubbling, delamination and fading for the life of the film.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes. We work by appointment so every car gets the time it needs. Book online or call (262) 492-0295.
